Welcome Back Occupational Therapist Alexa Gauthier

We are happy to announce that occupational therapist Alexa Gauthier has re-joined our team.  Alexa spent a year working in mental health in the public sector and we are pleased she comes back to us with this added skill set!

Alexa Gauthier BSc.O.T., OT(c), OT Reg.(NB) graduated with high honors from Dalhousie University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.

Did you know she won the Maestro Award of Excellence in Outreach as a Kindermusik teacher?

Alexa is also trained in Therapeutic Listening®, a research based tool for treating people of all ages who have difficulty processing sensory information, listening, attention, and communication. She is a trained CarFit technician.  Alexa has completed ASIST, applied suicide intervention skills training. She is a Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP®) trained clinician. PGAP® is an evidence-based treatment program for reducing disability associated with pain, depression, cancer and other chronic health conditions. Alexa is also trained in the Matheson Functional Capacity Evaluation, a physical evaluation of an injured worker or accident victim in the areas of strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, and physical effort.  She is trained in Cognitive Demands Analysis, Cognitive Abilities Evaluation and Cognitive Rehabilitation. Alexa is certified in Micropoint stimulation pain therapy.

She is a member of the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and is registered to practice in New Brunswick.  Alexa provides occupational therapy services to adults and seniors with physical, cognitive and mental health challenges at home, school and work in English and French in greater Saint John, New Brunswick.
