Deborah Parent Counselling Therapist

Deb completed her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2017. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in 2001. She is a registered Counselling Therapist (or LCT-C ) with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick. Deb previously work in British Colombia as a mental health and addictions primary care clinician as part of an interdisciplinary team collaboratively designing and implementing treatment plans with clients experiencing acute or chronic mental health concerns and addictions to improve their daily functioning within community.

Deb uses evidence-based strategies to help clients manage symptoms, set goals, find coping strategies and reduce stress. She has experience in multiple evidence based therapeutic approaches including trauma informed CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based solution focused therapies.

Deb is compassionate, solutions-orientated, and dedicated to providing exceptional care. She works collaboratively to devise assertive and creative treatment plans with clients dealing with a variety of mental health issues. Deb is committed to embracing the bio-psychosocial perspective and incorporating engagement with relevant community services to provide clients with exceptional care.
