Christel Seeberger, occupational therapists and owner of TOTAL ABILITY, New Brunswick, nominated Ms. Gainforth for her achievement in creating Stepping Stones Fundy Region Inc. in response to the growing need to provide support and aid to children diagnosed with Autism in the New Brunswick area. Through an interdisciplinary approach, Stepping Stones helps over 100 children a year reach their maximum potential by providing them with the tools and services necessary to enable them to carry out their everyday tasks in the classroom effectively. Christel Seeberger, the owner of TOTAL ABILITY in Saint John, which provides occupational therapy to adults and children, said she was able to focus on the real reason she started her business in 2002 by participating in the Entrepreneurs Forum. “I was able to refocus on what is the core of what I’m doing,” she said. “I do this to help people.” Seeberger said she was terrified about talking to people about her work, but she said she knew she needed help. “I’m passionate, and I want to be out there helping more people,” she said.
