I read your article and thought that it provided great information for parents on practical tips and easy to identify issues that Occupational Therapists could address. I think it is helpful to note that OTs consult with parents and children on a number of different issues and not always as a result of a specific diagnosis of the illnesses that were pointed out in the letter to the editor. We do so much more than our nursing colleagues (and others) often see! I think your articles in KV style are always informative, accurate and practical. That was a pretty ballsy move by a nursing student, especially when it appears pretty evident that she is not fully aware of the role of Occupational Therapists in paediatrics. I'd hate to see if an OT student pulled a similar stunt in regards to nursing's role in health care. But, that is another topic for another time... Christel, your article was bang on in regards to why we see children in OT and I know my hospital colleagues would agree.
